A Day in the Life of a Middle-aged Woman

I’m in a liminal space. A transitional period. A trapeze artist in mid-swing. I was employed from age 16 to almost 60. That’s forty-four years with a paycheck, stability, and about 20% of the pie that comprised me.

I quit my job in February. It was unsustainable. The culture had fallen from a nurturing and supportive family into a dictatorial pit of manipulation and humiliation…in one year.

Also, my husband was diagnosed with stage 3 bladder cancer and stage 4 prostate cancer; I have the legal and medical power of attorney for my schizophrenic sister; and my 93-year-old mom needs me more and more. I’m not idle. In fact, I have no clue how I found time to take care of everyone (except myself) and do my job.

From these words I hope to share love, growth, humor, joy, agony, lyrics, recipes, photos and the craziness that was/is my life.
